Seminar organised on key developments in the field of goods and services tax on November 18, 2019

Seminar conducted on June 13, 2017 by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Pune

On June 13, 2017, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), Pune, organized a seminar on Goods & Services Tax (GST), in cooperation with our Firm. Over 120 members in attendance were welcomed by Mr. Frank Hoffmann, Regional Director, IGCC, who also introduced the speakers and draw short parallels to other GST systems worldwide.

Mr. Shashank Goel, Director-Indirect Tax at Mohinder Puri & Co., Delhi, spoke at length on GST-A Significant Business Reform and gave a detailed presentation on the same. Most importantly, in light of the limited time in hand for the industries to gear-up for GST, the presenter highlighted the key actions points which are required to be done for being GST ready.

Mr. Deepak Ahuja, Partner at MPC & Co LLP, an associate limited liability partnership firm having its branch office in Pune, introduced the technical details and forms, that would have to be submitted by an enterprise in order to be GST compliant in the near future. He described the critical procedures and the way to go ahead to become GST compliant.

Ms. Saskia Bonenberger, Executive Director-Head of German Desk at Mohinder Puri & Co., briefly concluded the seminar by focusing on the Indo-German perspective of GST. Four primary differences between the European GST law and the Indian GST law were pointed out, namely, in the Material TAX Law, Refund Procedures, Assessments, Tax Compliances and Process Description. The insightful and interactive session was followed by a question-answer session and High Tea, which provided further networking opportunity to the participants.

Seminar held on May 25, 2017 at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Delhi

On May 25, 2017, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), Delhi, organized a seminar on Goods & Services Tax (GST), in co-operation with our Firm.

The seminar that saw over 45 members in attendance was moderated by Ms. Sonia Prashar, Deputy Director General, IGCC. Mr. C.S Mathur, Partner at Mohinder Puri & Co. and President of the IGCC welcomed the participants and gave a brief overview on the long-awaited implementation of GST.

Mr. Shashank Goel, Director-Indirect tax, Mohinder Puri & Co., spoke at length on GST-A Significant Business Reform and gave a detailed presentation on the same. The presentation covered variety of topics ranging from framework of GST to the technical provisions. Most importantly, in light of the limited time in hand for the industries to gear-up for GST, the presenter highlighted the key actions points required to be done, for being GST ready. The session which was very interactive was well appreciated by the audience and the participants could clarify their doubts related to the complexities of GST.
